Fossil fuels are abundant these days and are widely available. Producing electricity using fossil fuels also requires little technology and are not so expensive. This is why they are widely used. However, the fossil fuels contribute greatly to pollution. Pollution is a big issue now because it poses a threat to us as it causes global warming and a greenhouse effect that is harmful to us.
